POINTS OF DISTINCTION
- Tskhenis dzudzu tetri (Horse breast white) grapes tree is more than 400 years old vine.
- Ottoman occupation destroyed the village and vineyards of the Meskheti region. Over the past decade, winemakers Giorgi Natenadze have been bringing back the local endemic vine.
- So far, Giorgi has been able to identify 24 of the 40 varieties that he located in the wild. He forages these grapes at harvest time and makes small quantities of these wines.
- This wine was fermented with skins for six months in Qvevri.
